What is trauma?

 

"Trauma is a psychic wound that hardens you psychologically, that then interferes with your ability to grow and develop. It pains you and now you're acting out of pain. It induces fear and now you are acting out of fear. Trauma is not what happens to you, it is what happens inside you as a result of what happened to you”

What does somatic therapy mean?

The word soma comes from ancient Greek and it means ¨the body¨

​

Somatic therapy is a form of body-centered therapy that looks at the connection of mind and body and uses both mental and physical therapies for holistic healing. 

 

I believe mind and body are intimately connected, though not always in apparent ways. Thought, emotions, and sensations are all believed to be interconnected and influence one another.

​

Triple Vagal Method is a form of Somatic Trauma healing modality that works with the body to release the traumas that have been trapped there.
